Understanding of Genjring Bonyok comes from Genjring and Bonyok. Genjring is waditra husk wearing a kind of earring made from bronze or iron as decorator like rebana, while Bonyok is local name in countryside Pangsor District of Pagaden, Subang Sub-Province. The meaning of Genjring Bonyok is artistry of Genjring of the beginning onset resided in area Bonyok. Artistry is one of traditional music art type (karawitan) which the instrument is consisted of Genjring, Bedug, Manacle, Tarompet and Goong.

This growth of artistry is related by situation of the area of resident public. The intention is progressively increase life of public, aesthetic experience of public and more and more new understandings appearance concerning Genjring Bonyok will have an effect on large to the artistries existences. Far before Genjring bonyok born, in kampong Bunut Desa Pangsor Kecamatan pagaden there have artistry of genjring led by Sajen. This artistry is genesis born of Genjring Bonyok.

The existence of Genjring Bonyok is tightly of the relationship with life experience of Sutarja which have fiddled around with Genjring since year 1963. At that time he played at genjring with entourage Genjring led by Sajen (His Uncle). In the entourage he holds genjring number of 1 which is commanding for other instrument. Tardug is acronym from Guitar and beduh. Artistry of tardug actually genjring bonyok also, only the instruments added by melody guitar for accompanying song dangdutan.

In the beginning of the growth, Genjring Bonyok applies a simple instrument that is three genjring, tarompet and bedug. All genjring have same measure and form. The difference between Genjring is only the low height of frequency.

The sound that genjring produce is usually sound pong, pang, pak bum sound and ping bum.
